Chelsea Star Breaks Free: Forward Lands Premier League Loan Deal to Reignite Career
Chelsea have parted ways with winger Tyrique George, who has moved to Everton on a temporary six-month loan arrangement.
George, who came through the Blues' Cobham youth system, was originally set to depart the club on a permanent basis last summer following a £22 million ($30.1 million) agreement with Fulham, but the transfer fell through at the final moment.
Following that failed move, George has managed only 11 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea and hasn't played in the Premier League since a brief five-minute substitute appearance in late October. He has been included in just one matchday squad during the subsequent 15 fixtures.

Seeking to revitalize his career, George has now joined Everton, who pursued the young winger as cover for the sidelined Jack Grealish, who is on loan from Manchester City. Grealish faces the possibility of missing the remainder of the season due to a foot problem.
The agreement includes an option for Everton to make George's move permanent when the season concludes.
"I'm incredibly thrilled to be here and experience this incredible club. I simply cannot wait to begin," George expressed. "The supporters here are outstanding. I understand Evertonians are truly passionate. They appreciate dedication—and that's exactly what I'll demonstrate. I aim to be thrilling and I want to make an impression on them."

Throughout his time in Chelsea's youth setup, George impressed observers with a collection of spectacular long-range efforts, creating anticipation among supporters for a first-team opportunity that eventually materialized in April 2024.
George received a permanent promotion to the first team near the end of that campaign and accumulated 37 appearances under previous manager Enzo Maresca, with the majority of his playing time occurring in domestic cup matches. He achieved a solid tally of six goals and six assists.
In Premier League action, George's experience has been more limited. His 12 league appearances total merely 321 minutes, with his participation declining significantly this season after his proposed move to Fulham collapsed.
George departs Chelsea this January with 18 months left on his current deal, though the Blues retain an option to extend that agreement by an additional year.
