Chelsea Striker Seals Premier League Move as Blues' Summer Exodus Continues

Chelsea have reached an agreement to transfer forward Armando Broja to Premier League returnees Burnley, according to recent reports.

The Blues are restructuring their attacking options this summer, having brought in Liam Delap, João Pedro and Jamie Gittens while releasing Noni Madueke and João Félix, with Broja being among several forwards made available for moves.

Fabrice Hawkins initially broke the news that a deal had been finalized to bring Broja to Burnley, with the 23-year-old already joining the Clarets for his medical examination.

While the precise transfer fee remains undisclosed, BBC Sport indicates it could reach £20 million ($26.5 million), representing complete profit for Chelsea given Broja's academy product status.

Broja, who reaches 24 in September, first appeared for Chelsea during the closing stages of the 2019–20 campaign before enjoying a promising introduction to senior football. He scored 11 times while on loan at Vitesse the subsequent season, then found the net six times in the Premier League with Southampton, earning him a chance to contribute under Graham Potter at Chelsea.

He managed 18 outings before suffering a severe ACL injury that sidelined him well into the 2023–24 season's beginning. Following his recovery, Broja spent the campaign's latter half on loan at Fulham but accumulated merely 81 minutes over eight matches.

A disrupted stint with Everton last season further highlighted Broja's need for a new beginning, with the striker now set to join Scott Parker's Burnley for their Premier League comeback campaign.

Beyond Broja, Chelsea are also seeking purchasers for Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling, while promising winger Tyrique George has been cleared for a loan departure alongside Marc Guiu, who is anticipated to spend the upcoming season on loan at Sunderland.
