Chelsea have a chance to salvage a thoroughly disappointing season on Saturday when they take on Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Robert Sánchez
A concerning head injury sustained during Chelsea's poor 3–1 loss to Nottingham Forest kept Robert Sánchez out of last weekend's goalless draw with Liverpool, with Filip Jörgensen stepping in to cover the Spaniard in goal.
Nevertheless, Chelsea's number one goalkeeper is expected to return at Wembley, with McFarlane set to call on the 28-year-old provided he passes a fitness test.
Benoît Badiashile
Benoît Badiashile has been absent from Chelsea's squad since mid-March despite no officially reported injury. The French defender appears to be dealing with an undisclosed illness.
There is no clarity on when he might be available to return.
Jesse Derry
Chelsea academy product Jesse Derry was also forced off against Forest after suffering a serious head injury, the 18-year-old carried off on a stretcher following extended treatment during his first-ever Premier League start.
Sadly for Derry, his campaign is now over, and the timeline for his recovery remains unclear.
Jamie Gittens
What has been a miserable debut campaign at Chelsea has been further derailed by multiple long-term injury setbacks, with Jamie Gittens heading back to the treatment table at the end of January with a hamstring issue.
The summer signing, who has contributed just one goal across 27 outings this season, looks highly unlikely to feature in the FA Cup final squad, with no return date yet confirmed.
Estêvão
Estêvão's season has been cut short after the Brazilian picked up a hamstring tear during last month's draw with Manchester United.
The young forward has not featured in any game since and will play no further part in the club's season, with his spot in Brazil's 2026 World Cup squad now also in serious jeopardy.
Alejandro Garnacho
Chelsea's injury problems are concentrated almost entirely out wide, with Alejandro Garnacho among those affected. The Argentine has been out with a muscle strain since the FA Cup semifinal against Leeds United.
However, Garnacho is anticipated to return for the clash with Man City—the club he netted against while at Manchester United in the 2023–24 FA Cup final—with McFarlane expressing that he is "very hopeful" of the winger's participation.
Pedro Neto
Pedro Neto is another wide player whose availability for Saturday is in question, the Portugal international having missed both the Forest defeat and the Liverpool draw through a minor muscular complaint.
On a more positive note, McFarlane was equally "very hopeful" that Neto would be fit for the final, with Chelsea badly in need of the energy and directness that their rapid winger brings to the side.
