Christian Pulisic Reveals How AC Milan Move Unleashed His True Potential After Chelsea Nightmare

United States men's national team skipper Christian Pulisic has shared insights about his Chelsea experience and how much more comfortable he feels at AC Milan.

Pulisic is fresh off his most productive campaign with the Rossoneri. The 26-year-old tallied 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, contributing to AC Milan's first Italian Super Cup triumph in almost ten years.

The American's achievements in Milan stand in stark contrast to his struggles at Chelsea just two seasons ago. Pulisic managed only 26 goals in 145 matches for the Blues and found it difficult to secure consistent playing time during his four-year tenure at Stamford Bridge.

As Pulisic prepares for the 2025–26 campaign, the winger explained why he believes his performance elevated significantly after departing Chelsea for AC Milan.

"At Milan, I've been granted liberty from day one, and I sense the confidence everyone has in me: from my fellow players to the manager, from the executives to the supporters," Pulisic told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Pulisic transitioned from competing for a spot in Chelsea's starting eleven to becoming an integral part of AC Milan's formation. The USMNT standout featured in 51 matches during his inaugural season with the Rossoneri and 50 additional appearances last term. In crucial fixtures across all tournaments, Pulisic served as a cornerstone of the Italian club's offensive strategy, earning starting positions on the flank or as the team's playmaker.

"Through signing me, the organization has provided me with an incredible chance, and I have an obligation to develop annually, to work diligently to consistently advance my performance level."

The discussion shifted to whether Pulisic feels "more comfortable" at AC Milan, something the 26-year-old confirmed.

"That's accurate, though it's simpler to express after netting so many goals over the past two seasons," Pulisic stated. "I'm enjoying myself tremendously at Milan and I want to maintain this trajectory, giving maximum effort."

Pulisic and the Rossoneri aim to recover in Serie A next season following their disappointing eighth-place finish. AC Milan will be absent from European competition, but with new head coach Massimiliano Allegri leading the way and Luka Modrić joining the squad, Pulisic remains hopeful about the team's prospects.

"Our objective is to secure qualification [for the Champions League] next season. The Champions League represents the most thrilling European tournament, and Milan belongs in it," Pulisic stated.

"We'll attempt to claim as many victories as possible and finish as high as achievable [in Serie A]."
