Regarded as one of the most devoted fanbases in world soccer, they consistently outnumber opposing supporters, creating an overwhelming home-like atmosphere.
Colombian supporters flooded the packed Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday for the high-stakes World Cup Group K showdown against Portugal, a match that concluded in a 0–0 stalemate. Their sheer presence made any show of support from red-clad Portuguese fans feel utterly futile.
Their intense enthusiasm was already evident well before kickoff. Thousands of yellow-clad fans gathered outside the team's hotel, the Dalmar Hotel in Fort Lauderdale on Friday evening to cheer on Los Cafeteros, who acknowledged the warm reception with smiles and waves from the rooftop pool deck.
