Cristhian Mosquera Completes Arsenal Move as Club Reveals His Shirt Number: "You Feel the Greatness"

Arsenal have officially announced the acquisition of Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera on a long-term deal.

The 21-year-old strengthens Arsenal's defensive options alongside established players like William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães and Riccardo Calafiori, and will don the number three jersey at the Emirates.

"This opportunity means everything to me. I'm becoming part of a legendary, enormous club," Mosquera shared with club media. "Having the manager and sporting director demonstrate such confidence in my abilities really influenced my decision to join. When you step into this environment with your loved ones, you truly sense the magnitude of this institution. I'm absolutely delighted to be here.

"My professional journey has progressed quicker than anticipated, forcing me to grow up rapidly. This move represents an opportunity to continue developing and enhancing my game. I'll be training alongside exceptional talents and world-class coaching personnel, which will aid my personal growth.

"I bring tremendous enthusiasm to the team. Being young means I have so much more to offer. I'm completely driven and eager. Most importantly, I want to keep improving, which will foster healthy competition within the group. I'm genuinely excited."

Mosquera, who featured in 82 La Liga matches for Valencia following his progression through their youth system, has linked up with his new colleagues during their pre-season Asian tour, and may feature in Sunday's encounter against Premier League opponents Newcastle United.

Arsenal fans had unintentionally received an early glimpse of Mosquera's announcement, following an accidental online leak of the player's interview footage. The Spanish defender joins Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Nørgaard among Arsenal's new signings, with Viktor Gyökeres potentially following as the Gunners work to finalize negotiations with Sporting CP.
