Cristiano Ronaldo Delivers Brutally Honest Verdict on Ruben Amorim's Man Utd Impact

Ex-Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo came to the defense of current manager Ruben Amorim, arguing that the team's recent difficulties are beyond the coach's influence.

Although United managed to secure three consecutive victories before this weekend's stalemate against Nottingham Forest, the club continues to seek stability and achievement. Amorim assumed control during the middle of last season and led United to their poorest Premier League campaign on record. That 15th-place standing was made worse by defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.

The Red Devils made significant investments, especially in their attacking options, during the summer transfer window. While some encouraging developments have emerged, the season hasn't been without challenges, particularly in the Carabao Cup. Ronaldo, in conversation with Piers Morgan, helped ease the burden on his Portuguese compatriot.

"He's [doing] his best. What's he going to do? Miracles? Miracles [are] impossible. We say in Portugal, 'Miracles [are] only in Fatima.' He's not going to do miracles. Even the players. Manchester United have good players, but they don't have, some of them, in their minds what Manchester United is," Ronaldo said.

Ronaldo Criticises Lack of Youth at Man Utd

Rather than placing additional blame on the coach, Ronaldo targeted higher-level executives at the organization and highlighted the absence of young talent in the current roster.

"You have to follow intelligent, smart people to create a base for the future as Manchester United have so many years ago. Nicky Butt, Gary [Neville], Roy Keane, [David] Beckham. They become big players, but they had youth," Ronaldo said.

"Manchester United, right now, they don't have a structure. I hope that changes in the future. Present, future because the potential of the club is amazing. It's one of the most important clubs of the century."

The Portuguese striker disclosed that he continues to monitor the team and their performances because Man Utd remains "still in his heart," while emphasizing the importance of being truthful about the club's present situation.

Man Utd maintain an average squad age of 25.4 years, according to Transfermarkt. However, the majority of their regular starters have been acquired within the past five years. Their 88-year tradition of fielding homegrown talent remains unbroken, but Ronaldo acknowledges the current team differs significantly from the squad he represented under Sir Alex Ferguson.
