The prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo teaming up professionally with his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., at Al Nassr is being floated as a real possibility for the 2026–27 season.
Ronaldo Jr., widely nicknamed Cristianinho, has closely mirrored his father's footsteps in recent years, passing through the youth academies at Juventus, Manchester United, and Al Nassr.
The 15-year-old, who turns 16 on June 17, has also represented Portugal at junior international level. Thanks to the spotlight that comes with being Ronaldo Sr.'s son, he is no stranger to viral moments — and last week he netted a hat-trick for Al Nassr's U16 side.
Reports are now surfacing that Al Nassr officials are "considering" elevating Cristianinho to the first team ahead of next season. A decision, based on an evaluation of his talent and maturity, as well as the potential value his inclusion could bring, is expected after the 2025–26 campaign concludes.
Ronaldo has one season remaining on the two-year contract extension he agreed with Al Nassr in 2025, meaning the circumstances could fall perfectly into place for the father and son to share the pitch.
Father-Son Duos in Soccer

While different generations of the same family featuring in professional soccer is not uncommon, father-son pairs playing simultaneously are exceedingly rare, largely due to the natural age difference between them. However, Ronaldo's remarkable longevity combined with Cristianinho's precocious rise makes the scenario genuinely plausible.
Ronaldo was 25 when he became a single father to his eldest son via a surrogate in the United States, taking sole custody of Cristianinho while keeping the mother's identity strictly private. Now 41, he is unusually old by soccer standards, yet remains fit enough to continue competing at the top level.
Former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Eiður Guðjohnsen was just 17 when he came on as a substitute for his 34-year-old father, Arnór, during an Iceland national team fixture in 1996. Though they never shared the pitch simultaneously, it still marked a historic first in international soccer.
Rivaldo, the 1999 Ballon d'Or recipient, actually did play alongside his son, Rivaldinho, for the little-known Brazilian club Mogi Mirim in June 2015 — and both men got on the scoresheet in the same match.
Before their falling out, David Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham briefly featured together in a 2015 charity fixture. Beckham Sr., 40 and retired at the time, shared the Old Trafford turf with his then-16-year-old son in an 'All Star' game held in aid of Unicef.
Ashley Young was denied the opportunity to play against his son, Tyler, when Young's Everton drew Peterborough United in the FA Cup. Sadly, Tyler remained an unused substitute throughout the match.
In the Footsteps of LeBron James's 'Crazy' NBA History

LeBron James etched his name into NBA history in October 2024 by becoming one half of the league's first ever active father-son pairing alongside Bronny James. This month, the duo added another chapter to that legacy by sharing the court for the LA Lakers against the Houston Rockets in the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
"I was on the floor with my son in a playoff game. That's probably the craziest thing that's ever happened to me in my career," LeBron said. "It's just so cool to be out there with him, and his brother and sister and his mom in the building, and his grandma. That's just insane. My mom got to watch her son and her grandson during the playoffs. That's crazy."
