Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr Fails to Land Real Madrid and Arsenal Superstars

Al Nassr have seemingly withdrawn from the race to acquire Real Madrid's Rodrygo and Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli during the upcoming transfer window.
Securing Cristiano Ronaldo's services remained Al Nassr's top objective after the 2024–25 campaign concluded. Following extensive negotiations, the 40-year-old superstar committed to a two-year contract extension with the Saudi club, ensuring his presence in their colors through 2027.
With Ronaldo's commitment secured, the team is now seeking to strengthen their offensive capabilities, particularly given Jhon Durán's departure to Fenerbahçe on a season-long loan arrangement. Both Rodrygo and Martinelli, who may be available for transfer, had been considered as possible acquisitions for Al Nassr.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, recent speculation connecting the Saudi Pro League club with these two European talents is "wide of [the] mark". Al Nassr are apparently avoiding "crazy expenses" and instead concentrating on signings that align with their new "budget" approach.

Rodrygo remains committed to continuing his career in European competition should he depart Real Madrid. The Brazilian international has attracted interest from several top clubs this summer, including Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris-Saint Germain.
Following only one starting appearance under new manager Xabi Alonso during the Club World Cup, Rodrygo seems increasingly likely to leave Real Madrid. The 24-year-old has struggled to score in his previous 15 matches for Los Blancos.
Martinelli similarly had a disappointing 2024–25 season, managing only 10 goals across 51 matches for Arsenal. The Brazilian winger might find his position in Mikel Arteta's lineup threatened by his compatriot if the Gunners successfully sign Rodrygo before the new season.
Should this major transfer materialize, Martinelli could find himself surplus to requirements in Arsenal's revamped attacking unit, potentially consisting of Rodrygo, Viktor Gyökeres and Bukayo Saka.
