Crystal Palace Sets Transfer Price for Arsenal Target Eberechi Eze

Arsenal have allegedly been informed that over half of Eberechi Eze's complete buyout clause needs to be settled immediately if they want to acquire the Crystal Palace forward.

Eze had another excellent campaign in 2024–25, highlighted by a decisive strike at Wembley Stadium as Palace claimed the FA Cup—their maiden trophy—and earned European competition access.

Even after confirming six new signings valued at up to £205 million ($272.9 million), featuring winger Noni Madueke and forward Viktor Gyökeres, Arsenal continue seeking additional attacking reinforcement.

Eze allegedly possesses a buyout clause valued at £67.5 million ($89.8 million), with £60 million ($79.8 million) guaranteed and the remainder consisting of specified bonuses.

Palace are anticipated to accept a phased payment arrangement rather than requiring the complete £60 million upfront, but The Guardian reports the Eagles still desire £35 million ($46.6 million) immediately. The remainder can be settled through installments, with bonuses potentially following later.

Contract negotiations aren't anticipated to pose problems following a constructive discussion with Eze's agents in June, but Arsenal have limited time since the clause expires when the new Premier League campaign begins on Aug 15.

For Eze, 27, completing a transfer to the Emirates Stadium would represent his comeback to the club, 14 years following his departure from Arsenal's youth system.

He subsequently joined Fulham and Reading but was later dismissed by Millwall as an 18-year-old, putting his football future at risk. Only a successful tryout at Queens Park Rangers, who are entitled to 15% of any profit Crystal Palace generates, secured Eze his initial professional deal.

Reports emerged this week that, should the Gunners succeed in acquiring another wide player, bids for Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard might be entertained. The latter is reportedly weighing his alternatives, having declined to sign a previously proposed new deal.
