France and Belgium both opened their 2026–27 UEFA Nations League campaigns with wins and will be looking to make it back-to-back victories when they clash in Brussels on Monday evening.
In their opening match under iconic French manager Zinédine Zidane, Les Bleus narrowly defeated Türkiye 1–0 thanks to a Kylian Mbappé strike. The win was overshadowed, however, by Mbappé sustaining a knee injury, ruling him out of Matchday 2.
Belgium, meanwhile, put in a commanding 2–0 performance against Italy, with emerging talent Mika Godts and Dodi Lukébakio both getting on the scoresheet.
France have won all five of their most recent encounters with Belgium—including one two years ago in the Nations League, when Mbappé was similarly sidelined. Belgium will therefore face a tough challenge if they are to claim a first win against their neighbors since 2015.

What's Next for Belgium, France?
Following their Brussels showdown, both Belgium and France will have two fixtures remaining before the international break wraps up.
Belgium will take on Türkiye on Friday, Oct. 2, at Stade Maurice Dufrasne in Liège before making the trip to France to face Les Bleus once more on Monday, Oct. 5.
France, meanwhile, will welcome Italy at the Stade de France on Oct. 2 ahead of their rematch with the Red Devils.
