Liverpool continue their preparations for the 2026–27 season on Sunday as they return to Anfield to host Monaco in a preseason friendly.
The Reds secured victories in their first two games under new manager Andoni Iraola, beginning with a thrilling 4–2 triumph over Sunderland before a more composed 1–0 win against Wrexham. Their US tour, however, ended on a sour note as they squandered a two-goal advantage in a dramatic defeat to Leeds United.
This will mark Iraola's first experience in the home dugout at Anfield. The Spanish coach visited the ground three times during his tenure at Bournemouth without ever claiming a win, and will be determined to get off to a positive start at his new home.
Monaco are looking to cause an upset and are also operating under new leadership. Former Chelsea defender Filipe Luís has taken the reins at the Ligue 1 club, who have recorded two wins, one draw and one defeat under the Brazilian during preseason.

Liverpool have two preseason friendlies left this summer, with both fixtures scheduled against Como on Sunday, Aug. 16. The opening game kicks off at noon BST (7 a.m. ET, 4 a.m. PT), with the second match following six hours later.
After that, it's time for competitive action for Iraola, who faces a tough opening assignment. Liverpool head to Newcastle United for their Premier League season opener on Aug. 23.
