What's Next for MLS, Liga MX?
Following the 2026 MLS All-Star Game, clubs from both leagues will resume their regular schedules this weekend before the Leagues Cup takes center stage. All Liga MX teams will take part in the tournament, alongside 18 qualified MLS sides.
The competition offers all 36 participating clubs the opportunity to claim some mid-season hardware. Cruz Azul and León lifted the trophy in the first two editions of the Leagues Cup before MLS teams began to dominate.
The last three finals have all been contested between MLS clubs, with Inter Miami, Columbus Crew, and Seattle Sounders each raising the trophy in 2023, 2024, and 2025 respectively.
