Mexico returns to the pitch for the first time since the 2026 World Cup as they face Colombia on Saturday evening in Rafael Márquez's first match as El Tri head coach.

Mexico has three additional fixtures lined up during the extended international window, giving Márquez ample opportunity to begin instilling the tactical identity he envisions for the team.
Matches against Peru, the USMNT, and Chile are scheduled next for El Tri, set for Sept. 29, Oct. 3, and Oct. 6 respectively.
Colombia, meanwhile, will play just two more games during the fall international window. Lorenzo's squad will take on Paraguay on Friday, Oct. 2, before closing out their first post-World Cup camp with a clash against Peru on Oct. 6.
