LA Galaxy and LAFC clash on Friday evening in what promises to be a fiercely competitive 'El Tráfico' showdown.
The Galaxy have traditionally enjoyed a strong home advantage against their crosstown rivals, claiming victory in eight of the 13 meetings held at Dignity Health Sports Park. LAFC have managed only two away wins in this fixture, and they arrive in poor recent form.
Denis Bouanga remains a standout performer — he has netted six MLS goals this season — but Marc Dos Santos' squad has fallen well below expectations so far. The pressure of defeating the Galaxy isn't lost on the manager, however, as he noted of the match being among the first as MLS resumes following a World Cup break: "An LAFC-LA Galaxy game is not just any other game ... it's the biggest rivalry in MLS."
