Endrick Stuns World With Transfer Revelation After Sparking Thrilling Comeback Against Roma

Endrick has signaled he would be open to leaving Real Madrid in January, despite manager José Mourinho's firm stance that the striker will not be going anywhere.

Endrick came off the bench to spark Madrid's remarkable 4–3 comeback victory against Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday, netting the late equalizer with a header, before Antonio Rüdiger sealed the win from another corner kick right at the 90-minute mark.

The 20-year-old's introduction at the Stadio Olimpico around the hour mark transformed the contest, with Madrid down 3–1 at the time. The chance to play the hero was a rare one for Endrick, who had been limited to just four minutes of playing time all season heading into Wednesday's match.

Endrick Leaves Door Open to Transfer

Speaking after the match, the young attacker told reporters about his "hunger" to make an impact whenever he gets the call.

He said: "I'm very happy. It was a very tough match. I was on the bench, just thanking God to be here. When the boss called me, I was actually surprised because it was so early. I hadn't played here for a long time and I had so much hunger. That's what I brought, and I did well."

When asked about his future, Endrick acknowledged he would be willing to move on in January when the transfer window opens.

"I take it day by day. If I have to leave in January, I'll leave; if I have to stay, I'll stay," he said. "I will do whatever God puts in my heart. I'm very grateful to Mourinho. He is one of the first coaches who has genuinely spoken to me. I trust him with open arms.

"While I'm here, my job isn't to play for the manager to win, but for Real Madrid. But because of everything he is doing for me, I'm going to fight for him and for Real."

Endrick's Comments Defy Mourinho

Endrick's words stand in sharp contrast to those of Mourinho, who specifically mentioned the Brazilian in his pre-match comments, ruling out any possibility of a January loan departure.

"Forget it, forget it. Forget any interested clubs," he said. "They had better sit down, otherwise they will get tired waiting.

"He is a player I love, with incredible potential. He is very important to us. Anyone interested in him will have a serious fight on their hands with me, because I believe he doesn't need to go out on loan and will achieve tremendous success here."

Despite Mourinho's glowing words, he has yet to show much trust in Endrick on the pitch, with super sub Carlos Espí frequently preferred as Madrid's backup striker option. Meanwhile, out on the flanks, the former Palmeiras prodigy faces stiff competition from the likes of Arda Güler, Yan Diomande, and Brahim Díaz, making regular minutes difficult to come by.

The attacker spent the second half of the 2025–26 campaign on loan at French side Lyon, where he scored eight goals and contributed eight assists across 21 appearances—a spell that earned him a place in Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil squad for the World Cup.

During the recent international break, Ancelotti cautioned that young Brazilian players like Endrick require consistent playing time to grow, amid his struggles for minutes at Real Madrid.

Madrid's Champions League opponents Roma have been linked with a move for Endrick, as have AC Milan.
