England Boss Exposes Marc Guehi's Shocking Response to Liverpool Transfer Collapse

England boss Thomas Tuchel has commended Marc Guéhi's professionalism following the collapse of his potential transfer to Liverpool on the final day of the transfer window.
Guéhi stood apart from many other high-profile transfer stories this summer by never openly voicing his wish to depart Crystal Palace, unlike Viktor Gyökeres, Alexander Isak and Yoane Wissa who all actively pressured their clubs for moves.
The defender seemed destined to complete a switch to Liverpool during the closing stages of the summer window, but Palace withdrew from negotiations when they failed to identify a suitable replacement in time.
Guéhi, who remains likely to depart Selhurst Park before next summer when his deal runs out, has handled the disappointment professionally and has now linked up with England for upcoming fixtures against Andorra and Serbia this month.

"We spoke with him," Tuchel informed journalists on Friday. "He appears completely composed. Very impressive during training. He's the cornerstone of Palace's achievements, their captain and leader. He's maintained this standard in our camp. He's managing the situation with dignity and professionalism, showing an excellent mindset."
Palace boss Oliver Glasner had been outspoken regarding Guéhi's circumstances, emphasizing his conviction that retaining the former Chelsea youth product was crucial for the Eagles' ambitions.
"I informed the chairman that keeping Marc is essential if we want to have a competitive season. We had no opportunity to locate an adequate replacement within a single day [before the deadline]. We all understood that Marc would only be sold if we had secured the proper replacement," Glasner explained to BBC Sport last weekend.
Liverpool are dealing with their own defensive concerns regarding Ibrahima Konaté, whose contract expires at season's end and has attracted interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. The situation is complicated by the Frenchman's underwhelming performances to start this campaign.
