Manchester City lead the Premier League table three matches into the 2026–27 campaign, yet Erling Haaland considers Arsenal to be the true favorites for the title.
The Enzo Maresca era has gotten off to a flawless Premier League start, with City claiming victory in each of their opening three fixtures of the season.
Haaland netted the decisive goal in Saturday's 1–0 win over Coventry City to keep the good times rolling, registering his third strike in as many outings this campaign.
Defending champions Arsenal are the only other side with a perfect record through three matches after the Gunners edged Chelsea 2–1 on Sunday. City currently occupy first place on goal difference over Mikel Arteta's squad, yet Haaland still regards the north London outfit as a cut above the chasing Cityzens.
The Reason Why Haaland Views Arsenal as Premier League Favorites

Haaland's conviction that Arsenal are the primary title contenders this season boils down to one factor: experience. The striker highlighted how Arteta's squad is a finely tuned unit with cohesion throughout the pitch, while Maresca's revamped City side is still finding its footing.
"Arsenal have been together for a long time and have developed this over an extended period," Haaland said following the victory over Coventry. "A bit like City when I first arrived. We're still in something of a rebuilding phase, but the transfer window has been brilliant, I have to say."
The Gunners snapped a 22-year Premier League title drought by defeating City in Pep Guardiola's final season at the helm, and Haaland says that should serve as fuel for his teammates going forward.
"We should be furious, we should have a fire burning inside us because it simply isn't good enough. It's been two years now [without a Premier League title] and it feels like an eternity." Haaland said in May. "We're going to give everything we have, everyone who will be here next season, to win the league."
The Norwegian is nonetheless accurate in his view that City are in a period of transition, and the club looks considerably different today than it did even last May.
