European Giants Enter Fierce Battle with Arsenal and Tottenham for Eberechi Eze's Signature

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur face additional competition in their pursuit of Eberechi Eze this summer, as German champions Bayern Munich have reportedly entered the bidding war.

The Bavarian giants previously explored the south London transfer market last summer, successfully securing the transformative signing of Michael Olise. Bayern activated the French winger's £50 million ($68 million) buyout clause, with Olise subsequently delivering an exceptional inaugural campaign in Bavaria.

According to The Times, Eze has emerged on Bayern's target list following their unsuccessful pursuit of Florian Wirtz earlier in the transfer window. The Bayer Leverkusen playmaker was reportedly Bayern's primary objective heading into the summer, though Wirtz ultimately chose to move to Liverpool in a record-setting transfer.

Bayern could potentially secure Eze's services for significantly less than Wirtz's fee, with the English midfielder reportedly having a release clause worth approximately £60 million ($81.5 million) in his Palace deal. The Eagles are also prepared to accept payment in three separate installments.

Eze has attracted attention from both north London rivals, though Tottenham's prolonged interest appears to have diminished in recent weeks. Arsenal have shown renewed interest from the Emirates, pursuing Eze as a separate initiative from their striker and winger recruitment drives.

The 27-year-old midfielder is reportedly 'receptive' to joining Arsenal this summer, though the Gunners have made limited progress in negotiations with Palace. They are monitoring multiple targets and may prioritize completing a deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres first.

Nevertheless, Bayern's newfound interest should raise concerns for Mikel Arteta and his team. The attacking midfielder position represents a crucial need for the German club, particularly following Jamal Musiala's serious leg injury suffered during the Club World Cup.

Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku remains another option on their list, though the French player appears to be finding his place within Enzo Maresca's system this summer.
