Exclusive: Canada's Stunning 2026 World Cup Jersey Design Surfaces Online with Official Launch Timeline

Canada's men's national soccer team is set to participate in consecutive World Cups for the first time, as they co-host the 2026 edition with the United States and Mexico, and the home jersey that Jesse Marsch's squad will don appears to have been unveiled.

Although Canada secured qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, they were among the select nations that didn't receive a distinctive new uniform for the competition—Nike hadn't anticipated Canada's qualification during their production planning.

This oversight won't occur again, and supporters may have caught their initial look at Canada's upcoming attire. On Wednesday, FootyHeadlines, known for their reliable reporting accuracy, published images of a predominantly red jersey featuring multiple shades that create an intricate maple leaf design across the shirt's front, while incorporating the Nike logo on the chest.

Different from the existing home uniform, the Canada Soccer emblem returns to the left chest position instead of the center placement seen on the 2024 and 2025 jerseys.

The artistic maple leaf design on the badge seems to draw inspiration from Canada's historical international hockey uniforms, particularly those famously worn in 1972 when Team Canada competed against the Soviet Union in the eight-match Summit Series during the Cold War era.

Although adidas revealed its World Cup uniform collection on Wednesday, Canada and the U.S. men's national team were notably missing as Nike maintains secrecy around their designs—the jerseys are anticipated to be officially announced in March.

Canada Soccer CEO Kevin Blue previously shared his enthusiasm about the uniforms with Sports Illustrated, stating: "I don't know the cool thing to say, but [the kit] is going to be fire, or maybe lit."

Under head coach Jesse Marsch's guidance and featuring stars Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David, Canada will begin the World Cup in Toronto on June 12, then travel to Vancouver to complete group play on June 18 and June 24, hoping to advance to the country's inaugural World Cup elimination rounds.

Canada and other nations will discover their World Cup adversaries on December 5 when the tournament draw takes place in Washington, D.C.
