Ferran Torres Sparks Barcelona's Dominant 3-0 Demolition of Getafe in Player Ratings Breakdown
Barcelona crushed Getafe 3–0 in commanding style to conclude a successful week and maintain the heat on Real Madrid in the La Liga title race.
The Catalan giants needed only 15 minutes to break the deadlock. Raphinha located Dani Olmo within the box and the Spanish midfielder expertly executed a clever back-heel to set up Ferran Torres, who smashed home to put the home side ahead.
Getafe struggled to create any attacking threat and during one of their rare forward ventures, Barcelona capitalized with a swift counter-attack. Raphinha released Torres with a through ball and the Spanish winger clinically finished to extend the advantage and claim his second goal in the 34th minute.
Torres nearly completed his treble just before the break, but his effort struck the woodwork.
Flick's squad maintained their dominance throughout the second period, even after introducing substitutes to rotate the lineup further.
Shortly after the 60-minute mark, Marcus Rashford broke free along the right flank and the English forward delivered a precise cutback for the onrushing Olmo, who converted into an empty goal for Barcelona's third and his maiden strike of the campaign.
The Catalans comfortably saw out the remainder of the match following Olmo's strike, keeping the ball for extended periods against a Getafe team that appeared increasingly fatigued as time wore on.
This was an impressive display from Flick's team, who are starting to look like the squad that ruled Spanish football last season.
