FIFA Drops First Track from Highly Anticipated 2026 World Cup Official Album
While some fans cherish the World Cup for its football action, others are drawn primarily to its musical offerings.
From Ricky Martin's "La Copa de la Vida" in 1998 through Shakira's "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" in 2010 and Pitbull's "We Are One (Ole Ola)" in 2014, the World Cup has delivered some of the globe's most beloved anthems.
FIFA anticipates the 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, will generate comparable musical excellence.
The opening song from the official 2026 World Cup soundtrack was revealed on Monday, combining musical elements from each of the three hosting nations.

The debut track, called "Lighter", was crafted by Canadian music producer Cirkut featuring vocals from American country/rap artist Jelly Roll and Mexican vocalist Carín León. The song incorporates both English and Spanish verses.
FIFA has already shared a preview of the track on social platforms, though the complete version won't be released until Friday.
