FIFA Slashes 2026 World Cup Ticket Prices: Massive Savings Unveiled for Fans
Following global criticism over exorbitant 2026 World Cup ticket costs, FIFA has introduced a new category offering limited tickets at $60 each.
Admission fees for the upcoming tournament spanning the United States, Canada and Mexico represent the most expensive in World Cup history. The most affordable seat at MetLife Stadium for the 2026 World Cup final exceeds $4,000, while minimum prices for certain group stage games varied from $120 to $265.
Supporters criticized FIFA for the shocking pricing, leading to intervention from soccer's global governing body. FIFA has established a new Supporter Entry Category featuring approximately 1,000 tickets across all 104 matches, including the championship game, at a fixed $60 rate.
Exclusively supporters from qualifying nations can buy these entry category tickets. National Member Associations will manage ticket distribution, establishing their own qualification standards and application procedures, ensuring affordable options reach "dedicated fans with strong connections to their national squads."
With more than 20 million ticket applications for the 2026 World Cup, FIFA committed to making supporters' aspirations of "supporting their teams on soccer's biggest platform" more affordable and attainable.
FSE: Reduced Pricing Merely a 'Pacification Strategy'

Even with the new budget-friendly category for selected supporters, FIFA's remaining 2026 World Cup ticket costs stay unaltered. These remarkable charges differ significantly from the $21 tickets the co-hosting nations promised during their tournament bid eight years prior.
Football Supporters Europe (FSE), who earlier criticized FIFA's "excessive" pricing, issued another strong statement after the entry tier announcement.
"This demonstrates that FIFA's ticketing strategy isn't fixed, was hastily determined without adequate consultation—including with FIFA's own member organizations.
"While we appreciate FIFA's apparent acknowledgment of the harm its initial plans would cause, the modifications fall short... According to publicly available allocations, this means at most a few hundred supporters per game and team would benefit from the $60 pricing, while most would still face excessive costs, far higher than any previous tournament."
FSE continued by labeling the announcement "merely a pacification strategy" to silence the "worldwide negative response."
