Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Jay Lynch suggested, at least from his perspective, that Arsenal's players did not handle Tuesday's historic loss particularly gracefully.
Arsenal, the current English champions, were eliminated from the Carabao Cup via a penalty shootout as Fleetwood, who are languishing near the foot of England's fourth division, pulled off one of the most stunning upsets in the competition's history.
Post-match celebrations were euphoric, with Fleetwood supporters storming the pitch to embrace their players, while the Arsenal squad made a swift exit from the field.
"It's obviously such a massive moment for us and all the fans ran on, so no one really got the chance to speak to them," said Lynch, who denied Bruno Guimarães's spot-kick to seal his side's triumph, in an interview with talkSPORT.
"I think the gaffer had a brief word with their manager, but with all the fans around we didn't actually get the opportunity to swap shirts or even exchange a few words with them, to be honest.
"They didn't take it well, let's just say that."

Martin Ødegaard: Arsenal Must Do 'Much, Much Better'

Manager Mikel Arteta appeared to reflect Arsenal's collective frustration when he reacted to the red card issued to teenage substitute Max Dowman, unable to conceal his dismay at the 16-year-old's dismissal following a response to a rough challenge.
That frustration carried over into the Arsenal dressing room, where skipper Martin Ødegaard acknowledged that the team had performed well below the standard expected of them in any fixture, regardless of the opposition.
"It's very frustrating to go out," the Norwegian international admitted. "Obviously, the way we played was not at the right level. We need to do much, much better than we did.
"Frustrating, but congratulations to Fleetwood and we're already looking ahead to the next game and bouncing back. They performed well so we have to give them credit, but ... we need to improve. I felt we got better as the game went on, but again, we need to raise our game even further, so it's a real shame."
The opportunity to respond arrives in emphatic fashion this weekend. Eight Premier League fixtures are scheduled for Saturday before Arsenal's visit to Liverpool takes centre stage on Sunday.
Andoni Iraola's side are in fine form and are celebrating progression to the next round of the Carabao Cup after overcoming Chelsea on Wednesday, leaving them with just one loss from their opening 13 league matches of the season—one fewer than Arsenal.
