Historically, Chelsea have enjoyed a dominant record against local rivals Fulham as they prepare for their 2026–27 Premier League season opener.
The Blues are five-time Premier League title holders and have claimed victory in 54 of 95 encounters between the two clubs, suffering defeat on only 14 occasions.
Last season, however, the margin separating the two sides was considerably narrower. Chelsea and Fulham ended the campaign level on points, with the Blues pipping their west London rivals solely on goal difference. Both teams claimed wins on home turf, while Fulham actually shipped one fewer goal throughout the entire season.
Chelsea, however, appear notably reinvigorated ahead of the new campaign. With Xabi Alonso now at the helm and fresh additions including Morgan Rogers, Marco Palestra, and Maxence Lacroix bolstering the squad, the Blues have also secured preseason victories against Real Sociedad and AC Milan. Fulham, on the other hand, have recorded just a single preseason win, against Stuttgart, under new head coach Álvaro Arbeloa.
The two new managers in the technical areas add an intriguing subplot. It was Arbeloa who stepped in to replace Alonso at Real Madrid last season, and the two Spanish coaches will set aside their well-known friendship when they face off on Monday night.
