Garnacho Delivers Shock Ultimatum to Manchester United Amid Chelsea Transfer Saga

Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly issued an ultimatum to Manchester United, stating he's willing to remain benched throughout the 2025–26 campaign unless he secures a move to Chelsea.
The winger is available for departure from United this summer following tensions with head coach Ruben Amorim, while Chelsea, who considered a January approach for the Argentine star, have intensified their pursuit of a summer acquisition.
Individual contract terms are understood to be finalized between Chelsea and Garnacho, who has expressed his clear intention to relocate to Stamford Bridge during this transfer window. Sources suggest the 21-year-old anticipates completing his Chelsea switch before the deadline.
Garnacho's determination to join Chelsea runs so deep that, per Fabrizio Romano, he has issued United an ultimatum to negotiate with the Blues or face him sitting out the entire season, declining to entertain approaches from alternative destinations.

United are willing to part ways with Garnacho, though a recent update from Romano indicates their rejection of player exchange proposals. Chelsea have offered to include any of Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi and Renato Veiga in the deal, but the Red Devils insist on a straight monetary transaction.
United have established a valuation of £50 million ($67.2 million), while Chelsea are reportedly targeting a figure nearer to £30 million.
Garnacho's alleged unwillingness to consider alternative destinations certainly benefits Chelsea's position. United have already accepted a temporary departure for Marcus Rashford and might be compelled to reduce their asking price to generate revenue following expenditures exceeding £200 million on attacking reinforcements Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško.
Chelsea are simultaneously pursuing RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons, potentially in conjunction with Garnacho's signing, and could capitalize on the German club's desire to re-acquire Nkunku as part of the arrangement.
