Gilberto Mora's Agent Issues Stern Transfer Ultimatum to Real Madrid and Europe's Elite Clubs

The European transfer of Mexico national team prodigy Gilberto Mora appears inevitable, though his representative Rafaela Pimenta has revealed her intention to ensure his move comes with a substantial price tag.

Elite clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City have shown interest in the 17-year-old talent, a topic the attacking midfielder has previously addressed. Nevertheless, Pimenta insists that acquiring Mora will require significant investment, cautioning clubs against devaluing the prospect based on his current league and nationality.

"What really frustrates me," Pimenta shared with Claro Sports. "How can a Brazilian player command $80 million, while a Mexican counterpart is valued at just $8 million? Is the Brazilian league truly 10-times superior to Liga MX? Absolutely not.

"There's a deliberate strategy, in my view, where European [clubs] attempt to persuade Mexican [players] they cannot command such [transfer] fees. Why? Because maintaining low valuations serves their interests. I witness this firsthand with Gil [Mora].

"I will do everything possible to secure Gilberto a premium transfer fee. When his price is elevated, he will command greater respect."

Mora presently represents his hometown club Tijuana in Liga MX and remains ineligible for European transfer until reaching majority age. The CIES Football Observatory estimates Mora's market value at €17.1 million ($20.3 million); should he achieve such a transfer sum from Tijuana, it would establish a new Liga MX record for outgoing transfers.

However, even that figure may fall short of Pimenta's expectations, given her memorable October statement: "€15 million ($17.4 million) wouldn't cover the cost of one of Gilberto Mora's legs." Beyond monetary considerations, Pimenta weighs another crucial element when evaluating Mora's potential destination.

Gilberto Mora Seeking 'Perfect Environment' for Continued Growth

Numerous promising Mexican players have previously relocated to Europe only to experience stunted progress, failing to realize their complete capabilities. Pimenta recognizes this pattern and acknowledged that identifying an environment conducive to Mora's continued growth will significantly influence his career trajectory.

"We're not rushing the process," Pimenta explained. "We must consider carefully - clubs desire him, certainly, but where can he genuinely flourish. At seventeen years old, he shouldn't be his team's standout performer. If he becomes the star, it's time to seek greater challenges.

"This period is crucial for growth and learning, not for assuming leadership roles. He needs to be surrounded by players he can aspire to emulate, saying 'I want to reach that level,' otherwise his progress will plateau."

Pimenta represents high-profile clients including Erling Haaland and Paul Pogba. She also manages emerging Mexican stars Santiago Giménez and Obed Vargas, recently facilitating the latter's transfer to Atlético Madrid.

Pimenta will maintain her behind-the-scenes efforts regarding Mora's future prospects. Currently, the teenage phenom is rehabilitating from a persistent groin injury that has troubled him since early this year.

Nevertheless, assuming no significant complications arise, Mora is anticipated to feature prominently for Mexico during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Impressive tournament displays could elevate his eventual transfer value to record-breaking levels for a Mexican footballer.
