Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly set to leave the club this summer, according to multiple reports on Monday, although City have not yet issued a statement. Guardiola's deal was originally scheduled to run through June 2027.
Italian tactician Enzo Maresca is currently the sole candidate being considered as Guardiola's successor. Maresca most recently managed Premier League rival Chelsea before resigning in January amid a falling out with the club's ownership.
The 55-year-old Guardiola, who has spent the last decade at the Etihad Stadium, would be bowing out in spectacular style.
The Citizens are currently chasing a domestic treble. They claimed the Carabao Cup in March, beating Arsenal 2–0, and most recently lifted the FA Cup on Saturday with a 1–0 win over Chelsea—marking Guardiola's 20th major honor with the Manchester club. City are also still in contention for the Premier League title, requiring a victory against Bournemouth on Tuesday to keep the title race with Arsenal alive heading into the final round of fixtures this weekend.
