Haaland Fires Back in Heated Feud with Rising Star Myles Lewis-Skelly

The continuing exchange between Manchester City star Erling Haaland and Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly has taken another turn, with the Norwegian forward defending his original remarks.
Following a heated 2-2 stalemate at the Etihad Stadium last September, Haaland was filmed instructing Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to "stay humble". During the same minor altercation, City's striker also questioned Lewis-Skelly's identity.
The comment might have been understandable given that the young player was making his Premier League bow in that match. By the time City visited north London four months later, Lewis-Skelly had become an integral part of Arsenal's senior setup and found the net in a commanding 5-1 victory. The full-back marked his goal by copying Haaland's meditation-style celebration and posted on social media with the caption, "Keep it humble."

When asked about his 'Stay humble' remarks by Time magazine, Haaland maintained his position. "I believe it's a significant message that many people should embrace, myself included," he grinned. "It's among the most crucial things we can do as human beings."
Haaland appeared completely untroubled by Lewis-Skelly's mimicry. "If he chose to use that opportunity to ridicule me, that's perfectly fine by him," he responded casually. "He's free to do whatever he pleases."
"They dominated the match 5-1," Haaland acknowledged. "So yes, they got the better of me."
Lewis-Skelly maintained this unexpected feud with what many interpreted as another subtle dig at Haaland during the summer. While confirming his new extended Arsenal deal in June, the England player vowed to "keep staying humble".
The duo won't need to wait long for their next encounter on the field. Arsenal welcome Manchester City in the Premier League on Sep. 21 during the featured Sunday fixture.
