Harry Kane Shatters Goal Record Previously Held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland
Harry Kane has established himself as the quickest forward in Europe's premier five leagues to achieve 100 goals for a single club, scoring a brace in Bayern Munich's commanding 4–0 victory against Werder Bremen on Friday.
The England national team skipper has already found the net 15 times in merely 10 appearances across all tournaments this campaign and has now reached the remarkable milestone of 100 goals for Bayern, accomplishing this feat in just 104 matches.
No striker in the contemporary period across the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A or Ligue 1 has achieved a century of goals in fewer appearances, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland previously holding the record at 105 games for Real Madrid and Manchester City, respectively.
"It's incredible even for myself," Kane shared with Sky Germany. "It's a privilege to score 100 goals for this magnificent club. To accomplish it this rapidly, I'm extremely proud of that achievement. Hopefully I can reach another century as quickly as possible."
With his current form, Kane is also targeting the single-season Bundesliga scoring record of 41 goals, established by Robert Lewandowski during the 2020–21 season. Kane has already netted 10 times in Bayern's opening five matches and confirmed he is "absolutely" aiming to surpass Lewandowski's mark.
"I've found the net 10 times in five matches," he added. "If I maintain this pace, it's certainly achievable. Every campaign is a long journey. We've begun strongly, we're performing well, but naturally many things can occur, and we must be ready for everything."
