Harvey Elliott Set to Seal Liverpool Departure After Agreeing Personal Terms

Harvey Elliott is moving closer to departing Liverpool following an agreement on personal terms with German club RB Leipzig, according to reports from Germany.

Once among Jürgen Klopp's preferred players, Elliott experienced a notable decrease in playing time during the previous campaign under Arne Slot, creating the possibility for a summer departure.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reports that Elliott represents Leipzig's "primary target" to fill the void left by sought-after attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, who is coveted by Chelsea and expected to relocate to west London rather than joining Bayern Munich.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to allow Elliott's departure, contingent upon receiving an "appropriate offer" for the 22-year-old midfielder.

There exists a chance to capitalize on the former Fulham creative midfielder, who was previously reported to be assessed by Liverpool at £40–50 million ($53.9–67.4 million) based on the specific conditions of any transaction.

While the Premier League titleholders have invested heavily in the transfer market since last season's conclusion, current summer departures could surpass £220 million should all performance-related clauses be activated. An Elliott transfer could push that figure well beyond £250 million.

RB Leipzig continue to maintain interest in Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku, though the clubs are presently not in agreement regarding the structure of a potential deal for the French player to return to his previous club.

Plettenberg indicates that Leipzig appreciate Nkunku, who netted 58 goals during his final two campaigns at Red Bull Arena, and "maintain dialogue" with Chelsea. However, while Leipzig have "dismissed" a permanent acquisition and prefer pursuing a loan arrangement, the Blues are unwilling to consider anything short of a loan with mandatory purchase clause.

Offloading Nkunku and forward Nicolas Jackson is believed to be crucial for Chelsea to facilitate incoming transfers for Alejandro Garnacho and the previously mentioned Simons.
