Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Jurriën Timber is fit to start for Arsenal in Saturday's Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, despite being sidelined for almost three months due to injury.
Timber has not played for the Gunners since their win over Everton in mid-March after picking up a groin problem in that match, raising genuine concerns about his participation against PSG in Budapest.
The right back's selection in the Netherlands World Cup squad suggested he would be available for the showpiece occasion, and Arteta has now confirmed that Timber is ready to start against the reigning European champions.
In more encouraging news for Arsenal, the Spanish manager also disclosed that Noni Madueke is available for the crucial match, with the winger having recovered from a minor hamstring issue picked up on the final day of the Premier League campaign.
"The only one [injured] is Ben White," Arteta stated when asked about the fitness of Timber and Madueke during his pre-match press conference.
Timber's Timely Return vs. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

The unavailability of both Timber and his deputy White at right back had threatened to present Arteta with a significant headache at the Puskás Aréna. Cristhian Mosquera, predominantly a center back, has been deputising in their absence, while a brief and unsuccessful attempt to deploy Declan Rice in the position against West Ham United left Arteta searching for answers.
With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set to operate on the left wing in the Champions League final—the tournament's most dangerous attacker this season with 10 goals and six assists—the lack of a natural right back could have seriously undermined Arsenal's prospects.
Timber's well-timed return could therefore prove decisive in Saturday's encounter. Although some rustiness is inevitable after such a lengthy absence, Arteta will feel considerably more confident about Arsenal's title hopes with the Dutchman tasked with containing Kvaratskhelia.
Timber will also require significant support from Bukayo Saka, with the tireless Englishman needing to track back and deal with the combined threat of Kvaratskhelia and overlapping left back Nuno Mendes.
Fortunately for Arsenal, they possess Europe's most resolute defensive unit, with Timber integral to the backline performing at its best.
