Inter Miami Breaks Silence on Jaw-Dropping Salah-Messi Dream Team Move—Explosive Report

Inter Miami are not currently pursuing a deal to sign Mohamed Salah as he prepares to leave Liverpool this summer, according to a new report.

Following Salah's surprising announcement on Tuesday, speculation quickly mounted over where the Egyptian star would head next.

Salah has been most frequently linked to MLS and the Saudi Pro League, with both competitions vying for the 33-year-old superstar. While MLS cannot match the financial power of the Saudi Pro League, the American top flight has become a popular destination for veteran players in the later stages of their careers—most notably Lionel Messi.

"Mo Salah is one of the greatest players in Premier League history ... I'd love to see him in our league," MLS commissioner Don Garber told reporters at the Sports Business Journal conference in Atlanta on Thursday.

"I couldn't say that until he announced he was leaving Liverpool. What a tremendous player he would be in MLS, and I believe we would offer him an outstanding platform."

Wherever MLS is mentioned, Messi's name is never far behind, with recent reports suggesting that the Argentine icon's Inter Miami side was gearing up to table an offer for Salah.

However, Fabrizio Romano took to his YouTube channel on Friday to confirm that Miami is not currently exploring a move for Salah.

What Did Fabrizio Romano Say?

Despite being under contract until 2027, Salah will depart Liverpool as a free agent with no transfer fee at the end of the season, playing his final Premier League match for the Reds at Anfield on May 24.

While the prospect of Messi and Salah playing together would generate enormous excitement this summer—setting aside the chaos they could cause on the field—it is far too premature to get carried away about such a pairing.

"Guys, let me make this very clear: Inter Miami are not in negotiations to sign Mo Salah," Romano said. "Despite the reports and stories circulating, Inter Miami are not directing their attention toward Mohamed Salah."

Salah will be available as a free agent, meaning clubs will approach him directly with offers rather than negotiating through Liverpool as they previously had to.

"That means we will see plenty of reports and stories, but Mohamed Salah has not yet made a decision," Romano said.

"He's a dream target for the Saudi [Pro League]. After two years of repeatedly attempting to sign Mohamed Salah but struggling due to Liverpool's stance ... Saudi clubs still dream of landing him, but from Inter Miami's side, there is nothing credible in the reports you may have come across."

Having failed to secure Salah with a $200 million offer back in September 2023, Al Ittihad—who have already renewed their interest in the forward—appears to be the leading candidate to sign Salah.
