When Will Inter Miami Play Their First Match at Miami Freedom Park?

Lionel Messi

The Herons will transition to their new cutting-edge stadium, Miami Freedom Park, for the 2026 MLS campaign.

April 4, 2026 marks the historic date when Miami will compete in their inaugural match at the new facility.

Following five consecutive road fixtures to begin the season, Miami Freedom Park will welcome fans for the first time as the Herons face Austin FC.

MLS Set to Pause During FIFA World Cup

Rodrigo De Paul

The forthcoming MLS regular season will include a month-long hiatus during summer to accommodate the 2026 World Cup.

Beginning May 25, MLS matches will be suspended until July 16.

Despite the World Cup final taking place on July 19—just three days after MLS resumes—Miami's schedule ensures they won't play until after the tournament concludes.

The Herons' final fixture before the 2026 World Cup is a home encounter with Philadelphia Union on May 24. Miami will then resume play by hosting Chicago Fire on July 22—three days following the World Cup final.

Should Messi and Argentina fulfill expectations as World Cup contenders and advance to the final, both he and Rodrigo De Paul might miss the Chicago fixture.
