Jack Grealish Set for Shock Man City Exit as Loan Deal Secured, Medical Scheduled

Everton have secured an agreement to bring Manchester City winger Jack Grealish to Goodison Park on a loan arrangement for the coming campaign, according to numerous media outlets.

Grealish impressed during his Premier League comeback with Aston Villa in the 2019–20 campaign, delivering two seasons of outstanding performances that secured him a record £100 million ($134.4 million) transfer to City in 2021. Despite collecting numerous trophies during his Manchester stint, Grealish has been unable to replicate his earlier individual brilliance, finding playing time limited over the past two campaigns.

Following only seven Premier League starts in the previous season, Grealish was omitted from City's roster for the summer's Club World Cup, essentially signaling the conclusion of his tenure with the 2023 Champions League champions.

Everton positioned themselves as potential loan destinations earlier in the transfer window and, according to The Athletic and other sources, have successfully negotiated a deal to acquire the 29-year-old for the 2025–26 campaign, which includes a £50 million purchase option for next summer.

The exact financial details of the arrangement remain undisclosed, though The Times previously reported that Everton were "undeterred" by the possibility of covering a substantial portion of Grealish's £300,000-per-week salary to complete the transaction.

If the transfer proceeds as anticipated, Grealish would gain the opportunity for consistent match time—a significant advantage for his aspirations of securing a place in England's squad for next summer's World Cup.

Everton have already completed five acquisitions this summer, securing Thierno Barry, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carlos Alcaraz, Adam Aznou and Mark Travers as they seek to build upon the strong momentum from their 2024–25 season finale following David Moyes' managerial return.

City, in the meantime, are also negotiating the potential departure of Brazilian winger Savinho. Tottenham Hotspur have submitted an initial bid but must increase their offer to meet the minimum £50 million valuation.
