Jude Bellingham Breaks Silence on Xabi Alonso's Turbulent Real Madrid Future Amid Growing Concerns
Real Madrid's midfield star Jude Bellingham acknowledged that choices concerning Xabi Alonso's position on the sidelines are determined "well beyond" the players' influence, while emphasizing that the squad remains "unified" in supporting their coach.
Following a disastrous November that saw Los Blancos lose their La Liga leadership and secure victory in only one of five matches across all tournaments, Alonso unexpectedly came under scrutiny despite orchestrating an almost flawless beginning to the 2025–26 campaign.
Real Madrid's resurgence to conclude the year, coupled with a commanding 5–1 victory over Real Betis to launch the season's second phase, somewhat relieved the growing pressure on the Spanish manager, though a Spanish Super Cup disappointment could instantly restore it.
"Within our dressing room, we stand together - both the coaching team and players," Bellingham stated before the club's encounter with Atlético Madrid in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
"There are inevitable highs and lows, but we must consider our current position: Super Cup semifinalists, trailing the league leaders by four points, and positioned in the Champions League's top eight. Hardly catastrophic, from my viewpoint.
"As Real Madrid, everything becomes magnified when perfection eludes us, yet we're committed to advancement. Such decisions lie far beyond my influence."
Bellingham Addresses Alonso, Vinicius Junior Situation

Much of the controversy surrounding the 15-time European champions originated when Real Madrid triumphed over Barcelona 2–1 in October. The Clásico success was overshadowed by a public dispute between Alonso and Vinicius Junior following the Brazilian's objection to being substituted.
The No. 7 subsequently issued an apology for his dramatic exit from the field and into the tunnel, but then allegedly delayed contract negotiations due to his strained relationship with the manager. Coupled with Los Blancos' performance decline, a crisis suddenly emerged in the Spanish capital, with Alonso bearing universal responsibility.
"During difficult periods, numerous issues are fabricated. We truly understand the internal dynamics of our locker room," Bellingham explained.
"External perceptions differ from reality. We collectively support our coach without question. He maintains tremendous positivity, serves as an uplifting presence, and we're collaborating toward improvement. My relationships with teammates and Vini Jr remain excellent. Should any issues arise, we address them through dialogue. Our backing for the coach is absolute."
Vinicius Jr has failed to score in his previous 15 matches wearing the white jersey. The winger's on-field difficulties and off-field behavior have resulted in the Bernabéu crowd expressing their displeasure toward the club's former poster boy.
Bellingham Expresses Confidence in Vinicius Jr's Return to Form

Regardless of Vinicius Jr's scoring struggles, Bellingham continued supporting his colleague and highlighted the immense pressure and expectations associated with donning Real Madrid's number seven jersey.
"From my viewpoint, Vini faces considerable pressure. His field contributions remain substantial," the England representative commented.
"There might be a mental barrier regarding scoring, but I observe him as a dynamic and highly inventive player. Goals don't capture the complete picture. Assists and crucial contributions matter equally. We must recognize him as an invaluable teammate. I'm confident he'll return to his previous excellence."
With Kylian Mbappé sidelined through injury, this presents an ideal opportunity for Vinicius Jr to reclaim his scoring touch and guide his team toward Spanish Super Cup success.
