Lamine Yamal's Father Explodes in Fury After Son's Shocking Ballon d'Or Snub

Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Lamine Yamal, firmly believed his son deserved to claim the 2025 Ballon d'Or, calling the oversight a clear case of "moral damage."

Ousmane Dembélé emerged as the fortunate recipient of the prestigious golden trophy during Monday evening's gala. Similar to Yamal, the French attacker contributed to his team's domestic success, but Dembélé sealed an outstanding season by securing victory in the Champions League final.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker's impressive tally reached 35 goals and 14 assists throughout all competitions in the previous season, while Yamal recorded 18 goals and 21 assists.

Beyond Barcelona's inner circle, numerous prominent figures in global football favored Dembélé over the Spanish wonderkid. Nevertheless, his father's loyalties remained unwavering.

Nasraoui initially walked past reporters at the Ballon d'Or event, simply stating that his son would prevail the following year. However, as disappointment set in, Yamal's father contacted Spanish publication El Chiringuito via video call. "I believe it's the greatest... I won't call it robbery, but moral harm to an individual," Nasraoui expressed angrily during the FaceTime conversation.

"I believe Lamine Yamal stands as the world's finest player by far, with an enormous gap. Not simply because he's my child, but because he truly is the planet's best player. I believe there are no competitors.

"Lamine is Lamine Yamal. We must acknowledge that something very peculiar has occurred here. Next year, the Ballon d'Or will belong to Spain."

Barcelona president Joan Laporta adopted a more diplomatic stance, highlighting the award that Yamal did receive on Monday. "We should emphasize Lamine's second Kopa trophy, an achievement nobody has accomplished before," the club leader reflected.

"I'm confident this recognition will motivate him toward winning the Ballon d'Or. He possesses healthy ambition. We held great expectations this year, but it wasn't meant to be. How many will he claim? Only the future will reveal."
