Lewandowski's Agent Drops Bombshell: Saudi Arabia Makes 'Concrete' Mega-Money Bid for Barcelona Star

Pini Zahavi, the representative of Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski, disclosed that his client rejected a lucrative proposal from a Saudi Pro League club during the previous summer transfer window.

While Raphinha and Lamine Yamal's exceptional performances worthy of Ballon d'Or recognition may have captured attention throughout Barcelona's 2024–25 campaign, Lewandowski's contributions were fundamental to the Catalans' achievements. The Polish striker netted 42 times across 52 matches, securing second place in the Pichichi Trophy standings.

Lewandowski executed his duties flawlessly during Barcelona's domestic treble-winning season, though there was a genuine possibility that the striker could have departed Catalonia last term.

Speaking to Polish publication Fakt, Zahavi confirmed the remarkable proposal his client received to transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

"Twelve months ago, [Lewandowski] was presented with a formal offer [from a Saudi Arabian club]. They proposed more than €100 million annually. Annually!" Zahavi stated. "However, he chose to compete for La Liga and the Champions League. And he nearly accomplished both objectives."

Certainly, Hansi Flick's squad claimed the Spanish championship from Real Madrid last season, along with capturing the Spanish Super Cup trophy. Barcelona also triumphed over Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey final.

However, they came up short in the Champions League, unable to advance beyond Inter Milan in the semifinal stage. The organization has been vocal regarding their ambition for European redemption in the upcoming season, an objective Lewandowski will remain to help accomplish.

"This represents [Lewandowski's] ideal environment, where he experiences the greatest comfort," Zahavi explained. "Furthermore, Saudi Arabian clubs are saturated with players; they're uncertain how to manage them all.

"There are restrictions on foreign player quotas, which constrains their possibilities. But Robert had no interest in playing there regardless," he concluded.

Iñigo Martínez, conversely, decided to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr. The defender was a crucial yet underappreciated figure in the Catalans' 2024–25 season, but will pursue his career in Saudi Arabia.

Lewandowski, whose Barcelona deal concludes in June 2026, will need to consider his own future prospects in the upcoming months.
