Liverpool Discover Alisson's Road to Recovery Following Galatasaray Setback
Liverpool's shot-stopper Alisson is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks due to a hamstring problem.
The Brazilian keeper, considered among the world's elite goalkeepers, was forced to leave the field during the second half of Liverpool's 1-0 loss against Galatasaray, gesturing to his coaching staff after tracking back to prevent striker Victor Osimhen from scoring. He was later omitted from Brazil's roster for the forthcoming international fixtures.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot promptly confirmed that Alisson would not be available for Saturday's clash with Chelsea, with The Athletic subsequently reporting that the goalkeeper won't return until the end of November.
When pressed for an update on Alisson during Friday's media briefing, Slot stated it was "challenging" to predict the Brazilian's return timeline but acknowledged he's unlikely to be fit after the October international window.
This recent injury marks Alisson's fourth hamstring problem since February 2024, causing him to miss 41 matches for both club and national team. "I'm not a medical expert," Slot responded when questioned about whether this represents a recurring issue or a fresh injury.
What Fixtures Will Alisson Miss Due to His Injury?

As Slot confirmed earlier, Liverpool's initial match without Alisson will be against Chelsea on Saturday, following which teams worldwide turn their attention to international duties. With Alisson excluded from Brazil's squad, he'll have two weeks to recuperate with Liverpool.
When domestic football resumes, Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield on Oct. 19, followed by a Champions League encounter away to Eintracht Frankfurt several days later. Slot's team concludes the month with an away fixture at Brentford and a home match against new opponents Crystal Palace.
November kicks off with Aston Villa visiting Anfield, and just four days into the month, Real Madrid arrive for a high-profile European encounter. The schedule remains demanding for Liverpool, who face Manchester City at the Etihad on Nov. 9 before the subsequent international break.
Giorgi Mamardashvili will deputize for Alisson during his rehabilitation period, with the Brazilian hoping to regain his starting position by the time Nottingham Forest visit Anfield on Nov. 22.
