Liverpool Reveal Shocking Injury Update for Star New Signing Jeremie Frimpong

Liverpool anticipate being without their summer acquisition Jeremie Frimpong until following the September international window due to an injury the right-back sustained during his Premier League debut.
Frimpong was in the starting lineup for Liverpool's season-opening 4–2 victory against Bournemouth at Anfield, marking a fresh addition to the right wing after Trent Alexander-Arnold's summer exit. However, the Dutch defender was substituted after just sixty minutes following medical team recommendations.
"The medical staff were absolutely correct regarding Jeremie [Frimpong] when they advised me to substitute him because he will be sidelined until the international break concludes, and this occurred during the match," Arne Slot stated, addressing reporters before Liverpool's upcoming clash with Newcastle United on Monday.
"I believe I received criticism for substituting him, correct? It wasn't related to his performance, but we detected a hamstring concern, and by we, I refer to the medical personnel. It was the right decision to remove him. We anticipate his return following the international break."
Although the new campaign has only recently commenced, the Premier League season will halt after Liverpool visit St James's Park to complete the second round of matches, returning two weeks thereafter. Liverpool's subsequent fixture is September 14 versus Burnley.

Backup right-back Conor Bradley only resumed training from his own injury on Thursday, but Slot doesn't seem concerned about potentially missing both position specialists for the Newcastle encounter. Alternative choice Joe Gomez is also lacking complete match readiness.
"Jeremie [Frimpong] maintains an excellent injury history. Conor [Bradley] was sidelined once or twice during last season. Such situations occur," the manager explained. "Currently we have just two injuries but regrettably, both affect the same position. The positive aspect is we have alternative players who can fill that role. Wataru Endo has played there. Dominik Szoboszlai as well.
"Joe Gomez is certainly among those options, but for him to already feature for 20 minutes—that represents considerable progress. I wouldn't characterize it as a setback, but he hasn't been able to complete three consecutive full training sessions with the squad. This is entirely normal after such an extended absence.
"He is participating in team training, so we'll assess his condition and determine if he can feature on Monday. You cannot plan for two injuries affecting one position."
