Liverpool Secures Double Record-Breaking Star with Major Long-Term Deal

Liverpool's young talent Trey Nyoni has committed his future to the club by signing an extended contract.

The teenager moved to Liverpool from Leicester City's youth system in 2023 and shortly after made history by becoming the club's youngest ever player at 16 years and 243 days old.

His debut came during an FA Cup match against Southampton in February 2024, surpassing the previous record set by Harvey Elliott. Following this milestone, Nyoni secured his first professional deal in November.

While Nyoni has yet to feature in Premier League action, he has accumulated five additional appearances in European competition, domestic cups, and the League Cup, and has now committed his long-term future to the Merseyside club. The promising attacker finalized the agreement on his 18th birthday.

Beyond holding the record as Liverpool's youngest debutant, he also became the club's youngest European representative when he entered as a substitute against PSV Eindhoven during Matchday 8 of the previous Champions League campaign, at 17 years and 213 days old.

"This means everything to me, especially having supported this club since I was young," Nyoni expressed to club journalists after finalizing his new deal of undisclosed length.

"It's an incredible feeling. However, now I must demonstrate why I deserve this opportunity. I believe it's about taking things gradually, improving daily, and constantly developing as a footballer.

"I'm still at a young age with plenty of room for growth. That's what matters most. I need to show my appreciation through my performances."
