Still urgently searching for a Mohamed Salah successor, Liverpool are reportedly preparing to table an initial offer for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola worth approximately £100 million ($132.9 million).
The Reds said goodbye to Salah at the conclusion of the 2025–26 campaign, yet have been largely inactive in the months that followed. Liverpool brought in unproven Víctor Muñoz from Osasuna as their sole summer acquisition, while Real Madrid moved swiftly to secure their primary transfer target, Yan Diomande.
Speculation surrounding Barcola has long been present, but now those rumors are turning into concrete action. The Athletic reports that Liverpool are prepared to lodge a formal proposal for the 23-year-old to kick off talks with PSG.
The reigning French and European champions are believed to have set a £145 million ($192.7 million) valuation on Barcola, though Liverpool are hopeful of completing a deal closer to the £100 million mark.
Why Barcola Is 'Keen' on Merseyside Move
Barcola still has two years remaining on his PSG deal, but recent reports suggest the Frenchman has no desire to prolong his time at the Parc des Princes. He has largely been reduced to a supporting role under Luis Enrique following the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who quickly established himself as the owner of PSG's left flank.
Barcola suddenly found himself battling for playing time and featuring in low-priority Ligue 1 fixtures, while the likes of Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, and Désiré Doué were being preserved for the club's most important Champions League encounters.
It comes as little surprise that The Athletic describes Barcola as "keen" on a switch to Liverpool, where he would undoubtedly command a starting berth in Andoni Iraola's setup. Though the winger is most effective on the left, he is fully capable of operating on the right to fill the void Salah has left behind.
Since joining PSG from Lyon in August 2023, Barcola has accumulated 39 goals and 35 assists across 152 appearances for the Parisian club. His displays earned him a spot in Didier Deschamps's squad for the 2026 World Cup, where he contributed three goals and one assist for France despite sharing minutes with Doué.
How PSG's Latest Pursuit Can Both Help and Hurt Liverpool
As Liverpool pursue Barcola, PSG are pressing ahead with their interest in Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche. The Reds had also been monitoring the 24-year-old, viewing him as the more natural like-for-like Salah replacement currently available on the market.
PSG have already had three bids for Akliouche turned down, yet remain "confident" they will ultimately secure the Frenchman's services.

A completed deal would likely accelerate Barcola's departure, given that yet another forward would arrive to challenge him for a place. Should PSG refuse to sell the France international below their asking price, Liverpool could find themselves missing out on both Barcola and Akliouche.
With the 2026–27 season fast approaching, the 20-time English champions are under mounting pressure to bolster their attacking options. If they fail to land Barcola and PSG successfully sign Akliouche, Liverpool could find themselves in a very precarious position indeed.
