Liverpool Stars Rally Together, Send Defiant Message to Supporters Following Back-to-Back Losses
Liverpool squad members have called on fans to remain patient following consecutive losses, with Curtis Jones stating it would be "crazy" to expect victory in every fixture this season.
The Merseyside club suffered their initial loss of the campaign last weekend when they were outclassed 2-1 by Crystal Palace, and they compounded their Selhurst Park setback with an equally disappointing 1-0 Champions League defeat against Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool had been lucky to claim seven straight victories at the campaign's outset, but their fortune has evaporated during the last two matches. They have been completely dominated in both losses, with their defensive frailties ruthlessly exposed.
Supporters have been justifiably worried about the displays from the defending Premier League titleholders, but Liverpool squad members have requested patience after several lackluster showings.
"It's simply part of football," remarked Reds midfielder Jones following the loss in Istanbul. "I mention it constantly, you'd have to be crazy to believe you can triumph in every match.

"You'd naturally want to, but the truth is these opponents you face are elite-level clubs and it's expected if you suffer defeat. It's simply how you recover. It's part of the sport—it's not acceptable that we lose but we must remain composed and everything will turn around. Certainly it will."
Virgil van Dijk was equally resolute in his reaction to European disappointment, asserting there is no reason to "panic" despite Liverpool's below-standard recent performances.
"I believe we have demonstrated it [our championship-winning quality] already in numerous matches this season but we haven't displayed it for the complete 90 minutes yet regrettably," admitted the Liverpool captain. "It is completely normal and in today's game you don't receive patience from the external environment so you must be mentally resilient.
"I am extremely confident. We must continue working and remaining united. We had a strong beginning this year regarding points collected. There shouldn't be panic, but enhancement is required."
Matters don't become much simpler for Liverpool this weekend as they look for a comeback, with the Reds visiting Chelsea in the Premier League for their last match before the October international pause.
