Anfield will host new head coach Andoni Iraola for the first time on Sunday as Liverpool take on Monaco in a preseason friendly.
A surprising 4–2 loss to Leeds United in their previous outing, though ultimately meaningless in the bigger picture, has increased scrutiny on Iraola, whose debut preseason at the helm has already been hampered by injuries and a lack of consistency.
With only two weeks left before the Premier League season kicks off, Liverpool have just this fixture and a series of matches against Como before their opening league assignment away at Newcastle United on Aug. 23.
Monaco come into this match on the back of a victory over Getafe and are embarking on a brief tour of England. The French club are also scheduled to face Coventry City next Friday.
