Liverpool's potential move for Jarrod Bowen has been thrown into doubt by reported competing interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
Bowen has become an attractive transfer target given the imminent threat of West Ham United's relegation. Should the Hammers go down—which appears to be the most probable outcome on the final day of the season—they will need to generate funds to absorb the financial blow of dropping down a division.
As much as $134 million (£100 million) may be needed to stave off financial disaster, and offloading Bowen would go a long way toward plugging that hole. All three clubs—Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United—are reported to be interested in West Ham's skipper according to The Guardian. At this pivotal point in his career, the 29-year-old could soon face one of the biggest decisions of his professional life.
Which Team Needs Jarrod Bowen Most?

Liverpool's interest in Bowen is nothing new. The Reds need to fill the void Mohamed Salah will leave behind upon his departure, and the England international stands out as an option with well-established Premier League pedigree.
There is an obvious role for Bowen within Arne Slot's squad, but where exactly he would slot in at Manchester United is far less clear. The Red Devils are thin in most positions across the pitch, except for Bowen's favored right wing. If Amad Diallo is not considered sufficient, Ruben Amorim can always look to Bryan Mbeumo. Even academy product Shea Lacey provides an alternative option cutting in from the right flank.
Chelsea are not particularly lacking in wide players either, but Bowen offers a different profile that Xabi Alonso may find appealing. The Spanish manager is believed to be placing a premium on experience during a summer window in which he is expected to wield considerable influence. The Blues have not spent money on a player aged over 25 since signing a 33-year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the turbulent first summer of BlueCo's ownership back in 2022.
The memory of Aubameyang struggling up front will haunt anyone involved, but Chelsea's youthful squad is in dire need of more seasoned personalities. Bowen has served as West Ham's captain for the past two seasons.
Whether the fan favourite would be willing to join a London rival—particularly one facing the prospect of a campaign without European football—is yet to be determined. Despite the appeal of United, a Liverpool side that clearly needs what Bowen brings would make the most logical destination for both player and club.
West Ham's Relegation Stars Circled by the Vultures

Bowen is unlikely to be the only prized asset West Ham are compelled to part with this summer if they drop out of the top flight.
Talented midfielder Mateus Fernandes is another player to have attracted Manchester United's attention, while The Guardian also names newly crowned Premier League champions Arsenal and French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain as possible destinations.
Crysencio Summerville, one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dismal east London campaign, looks set to move on as well. Taty Castellanos has done more than enough in his five months at West Ham to earn another Premier League opportunity, while El Hadji Malick Diouf has shown signs of being a class above the general level at the London Stadium since arriving last summer.
