Luis Diaz Breaks Silence on Liverpool Future: "Best Decision for Me"

Liverpool's attacking player Luis Díaz maintained flexibility when addressing questions about his uncertain career prospects.

The Colombian star's potential transfer has emerged as one of the summer's most hotly debated subjects. With his Liverpool deal running for another two years, Díaz has allegedly turned down the club's initial proposals to prolong his tenure at Anfield.

Reports suggest Saudi Arabian clubs are showing interest, while Barcelona's sporting director Deco publicly identified Díaz as a transfer target during the summer window. The Spanish club might be even more motivated to chase the 28-year-old following their unsuccessful pursuit of Athletic Club's Nico Williams.

Díaz has maintained his composure amid the swirling transfer rumors. Speaking to Colombian media personalities, he casually remarked: "We are currently in discussions, engaging with Liverpool and all parties who have approached us," according to AS.

"I feel completely at peace with my current situation and very content," Díaz continued, emphasizing that he will "choose what's best for my career".

Liverpool, meanwhile, seem determined to retain their adaptable attacker. Reports indicate that Arne Slot's team would require approximately €80 million (£68.6 million, $94.1 million), though some sources doubt whether any amount would persuade Liverpool to sell such a valuable asset.

Apart from Mohamed Salah, no player scored more goals during last season's title-winning Premier League campaign, while his reliability and versatility across all forward positions meant he was absent for only two league matches throughout the season.

Bayern Munich represents another club reportedly interested in acquiring Díaz. The Bundesliga champions have endured a summer of transfer disappointments, with both Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams openly declining their overtures.

While Bayern may also face rejection regarding Díaz, recent reports from BILD suggest the winger is personally interested in moving to Bavaria. Honorary president Uli Hoeneß recently acknowledged that "the left attacking position will definitely be strengthened" this summer, with discussions with Liverpool reportedly continuing.
