Luka Modric Breaks Silence with Powerful First Message to His New Club

Football's most anticipated transfer has been officially announced through AC Milan's media platforms; Luka Modrić is set to don the Rossoneri jersey for the 2025–26 season.

The legendary Real Madrid playmaker emotionally announced his exit from the Spanish capital following the previous campaign's conclusion. "The moment has arrived," he expressed in a heartfelt message. "The moment I wished would never come, but such is football, and in existence everything begins and concludes."

Following reports of unsuccessful negotiations with Lionel Messi's Inter Miami, the Swansea City part-owner has remained in Europe's top tier by signing with prestigious Italian club Milan.

"Hello everyone," Modrić addressed the club's social media audience. "I have just arrived in Milan. Extremely pleased to be here to begin a fresh phase in my professional journey. Warm regards to all."

Seven days prior, newly appointed coach Massimiliano Allegri had essentially verified the high-profile acquisition. "Modric will join us in August," Allegri informed gathered journalists during his Milan unveiling. "He represents an exceptional talent."

Milan have struggled to maintain exceptional standards recently. The 19-time Serie A title holders dropped to a disappointing eighth position last season. A team managed mid-campaign by Sérgio Conceição managed to waste direct qualification to the Champions League knockout phase and suffered elimination in the playoff stage against Feyenoord before falling in the Coppa Italia final to Bologna, a team that hasn't claimed a significant title in 51 years.

The transfer period has featured more departures than arrivals so far. Milan saw their midfield anchor Tijjani Reijnders move to Manchester City while the influential left-back Theo Hernández eventually accepted Al Hilal's lucrative offer. Allegri has managed to secure talented midfielder Samuele Ricci from Torino, but Modrić's signing, despite nearing his 40th birthday in September, is viewed as a significant enhancement.
