Man City Clinch 2025–26 FA Cup Glory in Thrilling Battle Against Chelsea

Manchester City claimed the 2025–26 FA Cup with a hard-fought 1–0 win against Chelsea in Saturday's showpiece final.

The Cityzens, having already secured the Carabao Cup against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium, entered the match as favorites but struggled to impress in a flat opening half.

The contest remained tightly poised for 70 minutes before Antoine Semenyo produced a moment of magic, converting Erling Haaland's low cross with an exquisite flick that slipped past Blues goalkeeper Robert Sánchez and crept into the bottom corner.

The triumph marks Pep Guardiola's 20th major honour in a decade as City boss and his third FA Cup title with the club.

This FA Cup triumph will carry extra significance for City given the calibre of opponents they overcame along the way.

Well before Saturday's final against Chelsea, City eliminated both Newcastle United and Liverpool in the round of 16 and quarterfinals, respectively. They were pushed to the brink by Championship outfit Southampton in the semifinals, requiring two late goals to edge past the Saints.

That dramatic turnaround earned City another Wembley appearance, where Semenyo wrote himself into the club's history books with a stunning decisive goal.

Man City Hoping to Build Momentum in Premier League Title Fight

Antoine Semenyo, Bernardo Silva

City will be pleased to secure a second piece of silverware at the close of a campaign that has, by most measures, underwhelmed, though the festivities will be short-lived.

A treble remains a distant possibility for Guardiola's men, who trail Arsenal by two points with just two Premier League fixtures left to play.

Arsenal are up first, welcoming relegated Burnley on Monday in a match that won't yet hand them the Premier League title. Should the Gunners want to wrap things up early, they'll need City to drop points when they take on Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Guardiola will insist on total concentration from his FA Cup winners, who can keep the title race alive until the final weekend and look to Crystal Palace for help when they host Mikel Arteta's Arsenal on May 24.
