Man City Lock Down Rising Star Savinho with Fresh Contract Extension
Manchester City has confirmed the signing of Brazilian winger Savinho to an extended contract, securing his services at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.
The 21-year-old Brazilian attacker has featured in six matches across all competitions this season for Man City, netting once in the Carabao Cup. Savinho joined Man City in 2024 following an impressive loan stint with Girona in Spain's top flight.
"I am extremely honored to put pen to paper on this new deal with City. It's an amazing feeling knowing that Pep and the organization have shown such confidence in my abilities. This truly holds great significance for both myself and my loved ones. I believe there's still tremendous room for growth—I remain youthful and eager to continue absorbing knowledge. However, I'm confident that collaborating with Pep and his coaching team will assist me in continuing to evolve as a footballer," Savinho expressed in the official statement.
Savinho Pledges Future to Man City Amid Transfer Speculation

Tottenham submitted an official bid for Savinho during the summer transfer period. Although the club was allegedly willing to part ways with Savinho for approximately €50 million (£43.3 million, $58.2 million) at that point, as reported by The Athletic, no transfer came to fruition.
The Brazilian was initially contracted to French club ESTAC Troyes, which is part of the City Football Group network. Savinho had loan spells at PSV and Girona, with the latter also being a CFG affiliate, though the 2023–24 season marked a significant advancement in his professional journey.
The 21-year-old netted 11 times and recorded 10 assists in 41 matches for Girona, contributing to the Spanish club's Champions League qualification. He subsequently transferred to Man City the following summer, making 48 appearances under Guardiola's guidance, finding the net three times and providing 13 assists during his inaugural season.
"His statistics for goals and assists last campaign—Savinho generated numerous opportunities, and in the attacking third, [he must] be decisive at the crucial moment. Once he achieves that consistency, given his youth, he will develop into an elite player. He will reach that level—it's inevitable. Savinho will become an outstanding player for Man City," Guardiola commented about Savinho in the official announcement.
Despite receiving commendation from Guardiola, Savinho was notably omitted from Carlo Ancelotti's Brazilian national team roster for October's international fixtures.
