Manchester United, Liverpool and any other clubs keeping tabs on 19-year-old Yan Diomande may only land the RB Leipzig winger this summer if they are prepared to match a valuation of approximately $115.3 million (€100 million, £87 million).
Diomande has established himself as one of the most exciting young soccer prospects in Europe, contributing 19 goals and assists across all competitions so far this season—his first at the senior level.
This has understandably drawn attention from bigger clubs always hunting for the next standout talent, but Sky Sport Germany has reported that Leipzig are more inclined to offload other players before parting ways with Diomande. The player's contract running through 2030 also gives the Bundesliga club considerable leverage.
Center back Castello Lukeba, loosely linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool in recent months, is the most valuable asset most likely to be moved on in 2026. Leipzig could realistically generate around $230.8 million over the summer without selling Diomande, accounting for a departure from Lukeba, Antonio Nusa and several players currently out on loan—including striker Loïs Openda.
Yan Diomande Transfer More Likely in 2027

Diomande, who is set to feature at his first World Cup this summer with Ivory Coast, is "not unsellable," but only if an offer matching the steep, largely prohibitive asking price lands on Leipzig's desk.
A more plausible scenario than an immediate transfer at the end of this season could see his situation mirror the path taken by Benjamin Šeško, now playing for Manchester United.
Šeško attracted widespread interest in the summer of 2024 following a standout debut campaign at Leipzig in which he netted 18 goals across all competitions. However, the Slovenian instead agreed to a new contract with the club on improved terms, with a mutual understanding that he would be permitted to leave for an appropriate fee one year later.

Manchester United ultimately agreed a $98.6 million deal to sign the striker in August 2025.
That would place Diomande on a similar trajectory, with a move more likely to materialize next year. Sky in Germany notes that Leipzig plan to reward the teenager for his breakthrough with a "significant financial boost" through a contract revision. However, keeping Diomande would likely only be for "one more season."
A transfer is "expected no later than 2027." Naturally, that could shift entirely if a club steps up and commits the full $115.3 million for Diomande this summer, but most of Europe's top sides have other pressing needs—such as Manchester United in midfield and Liverpool in defense—and may not be positioned to pursue a player in his price bracket for another 12 months.
